Am I the only one who finds it amusing that recreational drug proponents clamor for the "freedom to choose" to do something that removes their freedom to choose?
And does anyone else find it laughable that one of their primary arguments is that it "doesn't affect anyone else"?

By removing freedom to choose, are you meaning mentally, or legally?
Should people be allowed to do stupid things? If you're opposed to legalizing drugs, would you also wish to ban such dangerous sports as base jumping? At what point do you stop protecting people from themselves?
Although I think doing drugs is incredibly stupid, that didn't enter into my blog post.
From a legal standpoint, I don't believe people should be allowed to abdicate their resposibility for maintaining a "reasonable" level of ability to make rational decisions.
